its normally only a couple of weeks after the EV drops, which was almost a month ago now. Not sure what the hold up is. Thanks. My IT peeps have drug their feet so long on upgrading us to v2022, that I was hoping sp4.0 was out for them to install. I checked this morning and there was no sign of it.

Re: Modelling negative space between components?
Sigh I'll say it one last time. Using the mold capability of SolidWorks (as I laid out way above) allows you to create a solid body which encapsulates the outside periphery of the ROV. It doesn't care what's inside. Create a configuration with only parts/assemblies that make up the outside surface i...

Re: Solidworks VAR's Consolidation into MVAR's..... What are some long term impacts?
To be brutally honest, the first price increase I see in my support services, I'm gone. I just filed 2 support requests for my VAR. The first I've filed in a long time for something other than (stupid) activation issues. Neither was resolved. One was a video driver issue, that I figured out on my ow...

Re: Modelling negative space between components?
To be brutally honest, buoyancy management on an ROV is a real challenge. Trying to get a process to do it all for you in one fell swoop is going to be problematic if even possible. ROV designers have extensive spreadsheets with all the various bits and bob and their weights, buoyancy, CB, CG, etc t...

Typically switching VAR's is challenging. As often as not, there are not any others available for your geographic area. In any event, SWx Corp frowns upon this, although it is possible. When I moved from LA to VA, I was transferred to TriMech from my previous VAR, MLCCad. Unfortunately, TriMech and ...

Interesting perturbations from upgrading SolidWorks
So, we finally got our SolidWorks installation ungraded from v2019 tp v2021 SP5. Yea, we're slow.... Opening files for the first time that were saved under 2019 has an interesting "issue". There is, for instance, an assembly with a number of configurations which suppress or unsuppress part...

Switching VAR's is a major ordeal. Assuming one is available that services your geographic region, you have to apply for it, provide justification, etc. I did it about 14 years ago, but I still had contacts at SolidWorks Corp. VAR's retain 40% of subscription fee's for "support". That migh...
