Re: Have anyone successful get power in charge to decide to leave SW ?
The BEST CAD SOFTWARE EVER CREATED is the first one you get really proficient at. After that everything else sucks. This goes for whatever range of the software hierarchy you became proficient at. Cheap, Mid-range or high end. Been that way since the first days of CAD. They all have their strengths ...

Whatever new version I am working on.... Currently SW2021 SP5.1. We don't do anything that special, and most users don't, that I get wrapped up in such and such version did it better. FWIW

Wonder if you need to break up the Catia forum into two flavors...
One for Catia v5 and the other for Catia v6/3DExperience.
There is a difference between the two versions.

I love the "Move With Triad" tool... Have had a keyboard shortcut for it for ages. That said it would bug the crap out of me to have it show up every time I selected something. I also toggle off Instant3D, so good to hear that will toggle off automatic popup of the triad. I use it for gett...

Re: "What’s the Difference Between Solidworks 1995 and Solidworks 2022?"
Excellent blog post matt . Truth in everything you write. Those were good times pre-2010 and DS taking a more active role in SolidWorks. The DS vision is as whacked as their asinine marketing bit on towing the iceberg to Africa. Fortunately for all of us, SolidWorks is such a huge part of the revenu...

About the only thing Draftsight has over AutoCAD LT price wise is you can still get a floating license. We have 10 network floating Draftsight enterprise licenses which are shared amongst 50 users. Since we primarily use SolidWorks for CAD work, Draftsight is only used in a few use cases. Same for ...

If you do not wish to use the 3DInterconnect you can disable it in the SolidWorks Options.... By default it is toggled on when doing a new install of SolidWorks.

Re: SLUGME 2021
How much SolidWorks content will there be? Only saw the 3DxPerience stuff being pushed. As usual the DS marketing machine has taken over to ruin what used to be a pretty cool event. Sounds like it will be heavy on marketing and light on what users really would like a users group meeting to be. SOP f...

I think I was spoiled with the old forum, I was used to response of some kind within a day or two, and even if no responses at least a couple dozen views in the first day. image.png They are just now figuring out the Swym platform is unusable???? More likely just now admitting it semi-publicly.

Re: Does anyone actually use 3DExperience?
Honestly I don't think SolidWorks (US) is responsible for the scope creep. DesktopWorks delivers and if anything they are guilty of not following up to fill in gaps in functionality and introducing bugs. 3dxWorks scoop creep lies at the feet of Dassault (France) leadership. They don't seem to know ...

If it was in a demo it probably doesn't work :-) I'm just starting to learn CAMWorks, haven't gone to any training yet. One of the things they tout is "Automatic feature recognition". Supposedly it is supposed to look at the part and say "Yeah that's a hole, apply this strategy for m...
