I Want to Add "Description" Column to the State Change Columns

When I want to change the state of a file, it would be helpful if, after the p/n column, there was the description column. I see in the "Columns" section of the PDM admin program you can add another column set, but not modify the existing default column set. If I create a new column set, l...

Re: Humongous Points ~ Can This Be Set Smaller?

Hi Dan, they are virtual points, I figured it out. I had the wrong setting.

Re: Humongous Points ~ Can This Be Set Smaller?

That's for SW DraftSight, a 2D program that works like AutoCAD 2D.

Thanks for trying,

Humongous Points ~ Can This Be Set Smaller?

Somehow in my dwg template or drafting standard or settings, the points I added to a dwg are humongous and bold. I'd like to make it less bold.

See pic.

I looked in the settings, doc props, and can't figure out how to set them to less ugly....

Thank you for any help you may give me....

Re: Flexible Printed Circuit #3

Hi Alex,

I was able to do it, but scrapped my method. I made the FPC as a very wide piece, with a front profile. I then did an "unfold", cut away what I didn't need, add some more bends, "folded" it and it worked. YAY!

If you think SolidWorks can do it, it probably does....

Flexible Printed Circuit #3

I thank you all for helping me with the FPC question a few days ago. That design failed because the FPC can get damaged so easily. We are making a new design now, Iteration #3. I am using SW 2021, sheet-metal feature. This design MUST flatten. Attached, is my start, but can't figure out how to advan...

Hi Frederick,

I ended up making it very similar to what you did, except that I don't have any flat lines. I made them all radius' with equal & tangent relations.

Deepak, is that you? My old buddy?

That works, but the sheet metal feature will add radius's in the corners. You have to tell it what size R. So, its back to guessing again.... :?

Re: Flexible Printed Circuit Geometry

That's the way I did it. The question is, what dimensions and shapes to use? The dimensions you used were just a guess? Right?

Re: Flexible Printed Circuit Geometry

That's a thought, I wonder if the motion manager or simulation could make a model? Not sure. The material is some kind of plastic.

Thank you,

Flexible Printed Circuit Geometry

I have a geometry question I can't solve and I can't google. I don't even know what to google or what to search in this forum. I am making a flexible printed circuit (FPC) to connect current collectors in a battery pack. This FPC has traces on it that go back to a circuit board that senses the volta...

Re: resize the graphics area in solidworks

One thing I noticed after I opened the part, is that you put a part inside of a part. That (IMHO) is a bad practice. We don't allow that here at the company I work at. I suspect there's a problem with that part (like Sketch4 in this part.) I tried opening the part you put in the part, but "File...

I dimension to the blue dot. Exit and measure where it is, then adjust the dimension to make it exactly where it should be.

Re: How Do I Twist a Bus Bar in Sheetmetal?

I'm going to try this again.. Think I'm getting the hang of adding files.. I did this with Lofted-Bend.. Note the two 3D sketches. Your file is a future version for me but I was able to get the info I needed from a dumb solid. That worked great. I added (2) new 3D sketches with a spline and made th...

How Do I Twist a Bus Bar in Sheetmetal?

I'm not that good in Sheetmetal, can only do the basics. I am trying to make a copper bus bar that is twisted 3° on one end. I tried many things in sheetmetal but couldn't figure it out. I know there are at least a couple of way to make it using normal features like loft and sweep. If you open the S...

SW 2021 Pro and 2021 PDM Pro. Please see (3) pics... I created a new Search Results Column set. When I started a browser, I can not see the new column set in order to switch to it. I made one for the "Quick Search Results" (QSR) and it worked perfectly. I have (2) "Search Result Colum...

I'm not sure how to do that. When I RMC on the Blueberry, I log out. Then when I RMC again, my choices are to login, but doesn't give me a credentials screen. I logs me in as my windows log-in.

Please advise,
