i heard back. They took it as an enhancement request. I went back to 2018 and found I did not remember correctly, rather that favorites (or styles) only work for modeling the hole wizard features, not when editing a drawing.

We "split" our hinges into 3 configurations. 1 full hinge (part a + b) 1/2 hinge part a 1/2 hinge part b "1/2 hinge part a" does not show up on a BOM. So if we ever have to put the movement in, we can just put the config "1/2 hinge part a" in and on the top level place...

Actually, I can get the seed selection to change, but the result is wonky. Here's the wrong seed position, with the result you'd expect:

All Hate doing exploded views, but here I am. I find it convenient that you can select an item in the graphics area and tweak the explode distance. But - do that to a fastener, and it changes the fastener length instead. Any way to stop that behavior? Instant 3D is off. I'm on SW2018 (still). Thanks...

Sorry to continue off topic, but all our off-the-shelf commercial items are one file, no matter how many bodies. If they articulate in some way, like a hinge or drawer slide, then we have configurations to show that.

What does it mean, "Split the face at draft angle"? And how do you do it? My split line feature doesn't seem to have such a thing. Use the Silhouette option in Split Lines. I see there are also Silhouette Entities in SW2020+. We are still on SW2018 so I haven't played with those yet. Dwight

I have control of the lineweight settings, and they turn out to be correct in a drawing print. It's the display during editing that is the issue.
