I find it it best to not create in-context relations, meaning relations made within the assembly, which can easily lead to trouble. You are right. I had thought I'd seen that done in a presentation, and I have occasionally used saved section views, but I never did use one in a drawing. I see now that help does say that you can't use them in drawings.

I do have that checked, and views preview when I move them.

I'm looking at the "Model View" window when first placing a view from a model. There's a "Preview" check box that causes placement box to preview. It works when I check it, but I'd like to have it on by default.

At least 80% of my spline issues went away when I started using Bezier type Style Splines. They can be specified in just the way that fits my design intent, and I find they can be both fully defined and edited reliably.
