I took Spanish in school. 20 miles from the Quebec border. Not that bright. I was obviously looking forward, planning...

Re: Equation (count based on length)
You can use if / then statements in equations as others have mentioned. Nesting of these statements is possible, see the attached model. It may not be the most proficient way of doing it, but it'll get the job done to a certain extent.

Re: Select Similar Arcs / Circles
I believe that there is a filter selection option available with the DraftSight software, allowing you to select only circles and/or arcs. Unfortunately, it is no longer free with a SWX subscription.

Re: Quotations
My late grandfather told me once that there are three types of people in this world, the ones that can count and the ones that can't.

Re: What do you listen to at work?
Aside from the incessant whining from a couple of co-workers, I will usually be listening to anything easy (jazz standards, Coltrane, the Duke, Sinatra, Davis, Eagles, Diamond, Joel, the Beatles, ELO…), and then there are others times when I feel like it is time to take the lead out and listen to so...

Re: What happened when you tried Inventor
I had used Inventor for about a year or so, and this goes back approximately 9 to 10 years. We had just been bought out, and the preferred 3D modeling software of the overtaking company was Inventor. We were using, and are still to this day, both Solidworks and AutoCAD, yes you read correctly, AutoC...

Re: Farewell Forum.Solidworks.Com
Yep, sad to see the old platform put out to pasture. I was fairly new to the old forum, maybe three or four years, even though I have been an on and off SWX user pretty much since its inception in 95/96. It was only recently, the last couple of years that I had frequented it on a daily basis, either...

Re: Your best practice for sheet metal parts
1. Depending on the complexity of the design I will either start with a sheet-metal feature or solid modeling and then convert to sheet metal. The more complex (multiple compounded angles) the more likely I am to start off with solid modelling and then convert to sheet-metal at the appropriate point...
