Re: Something in Projected views crashes Solidworks
Oh so many replies! :) Re-boot doesn't effect. I ask a colleague to open this particular drawing and delete that one particular view after which I haven't had these crashes. If I recall correctly I did some tests couple of months ago with our old templates and new templates and even a new part in ne...

"An unsupported operation was attempted." Ok? Well, now that you asked - what did I do wrong here? Clicked a view? Added projected views to drawing? Now I'm unable to edit this drawing due to the fact that SW crashes for some unknown reason and only thing so far is that it involves project...

We use a PDM issued six-digit system with a prefix letter that tells in general in which ball park we are running around - project, mechanical design, hydraulic design, etc. Now that I have read your thoughts I must admit that I started to appreciate this simplistic system. Anything needed to do by ...

Yep... seen this... but just a check.. I work in perspective mode a lot... so, any chance you use perspective mode .. very common for the dims not to show properly... which imho is total bs. Meh... I've never used Perspective mode - or so far I haven't used it. I wonder whether the issue might rela...

5) In a browser, CTRL + TAB will switch between tabs (because these are actually different pages...so its like switching between different documents in Word, etc...) OH!? This works in Office products too!? That's new to me. And in Firefox, Edge and Chrome browsers you can switch between open tabs....

Re: Lost Component References after Rebuild
I forwarded the work for checking and it's done for now. I ended up writing notes about each component. does your ASM have configs ? displaystate ? exploded view ? which version of SWxxx do you use ? I think there was no configs nor alternate display states but an exploded view. We use 2020 SP5.0. I...

For the most part the internet has made the "finding task" the easy part. Prior to the internet you had to actually collect this knowledge, now it's simply at your fingertips. I do value physical books over digital copies. Shuffling pages here and there is so much more ... tangible :D I k...

I'm not aware of a keyboard shortcut to do that, but if you want easy access to the configurations tab you can turn on the toolbars for configurations and display states. That doesn't have all the functionality of the tab, but it will let you switch between active configurations or display states w...

This is quite an interestin claim, but I admit I can believe it. As long as the workflow is defined and structured properly from start to finish. There are some caveat in Routing like... building the component library in the first place. Support material is rather limited. After a weeks discussion w...

There is an option to set a body or part to be rigid which atleast to my understanding (and guessing) leaves it out side the scope of study but could be used to transfer forces.
