This has been a big headache for me as I could achieve so much QOL niceties if this simply would update automatically instead of requiring user input. Unfortunately I have not found a workaround either apart from running a custom dispatch.

That's more or less how most admins become admins, welcome! Setting up PDM can seem like a bit of a daunting task but laying out and planning a lot of things beforehand is key. The automatic transition at the start does work well from my experience but as mentioned requires users to first check files in, then out again before they can be worked on however I have found discipline in this regard to be poor. I set the "Default Value" category in the data card editor...

1) Why a registry key modification is needed when that setting is inside the system option?? The option is greyed out for all our users, I assume due to the user accounts being set to english so the only way to adjust it is via the registry that we could see.
