Re: Properties - Summary & Custom Tabs Missing

I don't even know where to go to search KB articles. I hate that swamp with a passion. its absolutely an abomination. How on earth ANYONE in that whole company can think that is, in any way, a release-able / enhancement to previous is mind boggling. I don't even like logging into anything because i ...

Re: Solidworks 2021 Linking BOM CELL (item no) to NOTE

... Then hide the balloon if you don't want to see it. I tried to test this asi recall having an issue with this ages ago. I wished i could do this how the OP shows in v2022 (testing using 2024SP1). It'll show the ITEM Number in the note as it is displayed. So i thought, okay i'll create another ba...

Properties - Summary & Custom Tabs Missing

Does anyone know how to fix this or what's going on? I'm guessing it has something to do with 3DX.BS (but i don't do any of that "BadXperiancePlatF0rM" rubbish so i don't know why its changing things). I can't find anything in the help files explaining it nor anywhere else. I have certain ...

Re: why so many solidworks users ??

Its also its name. God am i sick of hearing "SolidWorks" used as the now colloquial "AutoCAD" catch phrase for "anything resembling CAD software". People just can't seem to say anything other then "solidworks" even when you explicitly never say it because you ...

Central Innovation. They were my reseller, but they used some pretty poor tactics in emails to try and get me back on maintenance. Fear, doubt and unknowns... They shot themselves in the foot though, as their email encouraged me to look around and guess what, there is more than one reseller in NZ n...

Re: NX vs Creo vs SolidWorks, et al

Close. It's not the developers though, rather the execs at the software companies driving the change. What we see is comparable to and organism that was once symbiotic feeling the pressure of competition and the actual evolution of the host. But instead... Of course. i use "devs" as just ...

Re: NX vs Creo vs SolidWorks, et al

My intentions are not to incite a riot by engineers and designers that are passionate about their tools. We all have a little fear when things in our jobs change. Especially the main tools we use in our jobs. Please don't try to dismiss my comments with an attempt to make them out to be emotional a...

Re: NX vs Creo vs SolidWorks, et al

You will find the whole industry has or is moving to subscriptions. Autodesk, PTC, Siemens, 3DS.. The "whole" industry is not "moving" towards this. The developers of the software are PUSHING customers in tyrannical way towards this goal that is theirs. Nothing to do with custom...

Re: What browser do you primarily use and why?

Firefox first and Vivaldi secondary. Looking at Vivaldi as a secondary as it seems really nice UI and feature wise and they seem to listen to the users a lot more then the behemoths. Avoid Chrome because Google are one of such behemoths that now give with one hand and pretend not to take with the ot...

Re: SW vs NX: 3D sketching sucks in NX

So far, i'm not a fan of the new sketcher in NX. IT does things i don't want it to and won't do things i do. And there are often no obvious ways to do simple things when it comes to fixing or modifying a sketch to do what i want. So for me, thus far, the new functionality is completely lost because ...
