SW is a downgraded parasolid engine at an affordable price and they were also very good at over promising and underdelivering IMHO. If you want extreme flexibility and stability just buy NX from Siemens, but you have to pay an higher price for that. Now we have Dassault in a not very nice position,...

Say you want to pre-assemble a part. Kind of pre-position it so it fits the right way. Is there a way other than steering wheel to do that? Can you drag the rmb or shift-alt-drag the mmb. You are right. Workingsheet is for placing drawing views and so on while background is for border, title block and property texts. Solid Edge has 2D Modell sheet what is same as Autocad 2D modelspace...

Hi Guys, I think Steering Wheel is a very useful thing in #SolidEdge. You can Move, Rotate and/or Copy parts in assy. When you copy a part, you can use its old relationships to add to new positions. Sometimes we forget about the peripheral aspects of CAD. Just had IT guys stop buy, a user in the tool room apparently needs to >view< models. (whether he really does or not I have to find out), but his computer cannot run Solid Edge. Probably just needs a GPU installed, but it's not a workstation ...

It just means that you can type M, I, C or E on the keyboard while sketching to get the cursor to snap to a midpoint, intersection point, center point or end point. It's one of the first basic things you learn about SE sketching. You can also just move the cursor so it automatically picks up these ...

No, you CAN export any well know file format, like step, iges, sat, parasolid, dwg, dxf and so on. There is no export limitation. This is not Fusion 360...
