I don't know Design X, but in Solidworks or Solid Edge or a 3D modeler, I'd use a ruled surface (or a straight line cross section swept surface) around the outside of the spoon shape, knit together the spoon surface and the ruled surf and sink it down into the solid, then use the surface to cut awa...
