My pet peeve at the moment is not being able to kill the incessant "updating bounding boxes" on opening larger assemblies. (SW 2020).
This seems to slow down document opening to a crawl.
There doesn't seem to be any macros for removing this behaviour.

Re: Macro: Batch Add Bounding Box
I don't need a macro for adding bounding boxes . . . . I need one for stopping all the updating of bounding boxes on opening an assembly.
Is this possible or is it baked into program (I'm using SW 2020 and no, I'm not going to update to latest version !!)

Re: SolidWorks view scales
Alex,
Can customise scales on my 2020 version so must have been implemented at least as that version.
Just a text file, so probably been sitting there in Program Files\SOLIDWORKS 2020\SOLIDWORKS\lang\english since way back ??

Central Innovation. They were my reseller, but they used some pretty poor tactics in emails to try and get me back on maintenance. Fear, doubt and unknowns... They shot themselves in the foot though, as their email encouraged me to look around and guess what, there is more than one reseller in NZ n...

Re: SOLIDWORKS Business Model Changes Coming in July 2023 - here we go again!!
They are pushing hard now to get suckers oops..... customers. From a VAR down here. BTW the $ values look horrendous, because our $ is only worth 60c US  I'm pretty certain though when converted over to USD, will still be relatively expensive compared to US rates. I thought this might be of int...

Re: SOLIDWORKS Business Model Changes Coming in July 2023 - here we go again!!
Yes, very much. I'd like to get my hands on the one who came up with that. I doubt it would have been formulated by any one individual, more likely a PR committee. Saw a presentation by my VAR about it all yesterday.*facepalm* The biggest surprise was that in future there will be 3 tiers in service...

SOLIDWORKS Business Model Changes Coming in July 2023 - here we go again!!
Anyone getting these kind of crap from their VAR (in my case they still have me noted), trying extract money from users who have not upgraded in 3 years. (Attached SOLIDWORKS Business Model Changes Coming in July 2023.doc from VAR) Link as well https://blogs.solidworks.com/solidworksblog/2023/05/sol...

Re: Solidworks is Busy running a command - WTH !!
Have you tried the Assembly Performance Evaluation tool? https://help.solidworks.com/2019/english/SolidWorks/sldworks/hidd_assem_stats_dlg.htm#:~:text=To%20run%20Performance%20Evaluation%3A,status%20of%20each%20diagnostic%20test.&text=No%20further%20action%20is%20required. Where are your files ...

Re: Solidworks is Busy running a command - WTH !!
The model size has very little, if any, effect on performance. The sketch complexity is probably to blame for your issues. Hi Glen, I'm having this happen on relatively simple weldments/models from time to time as well. I'm wondering if it's worth doing a repair on SW Tho you are right - there is a...

Re: Solidworks is Busy running a command - WTH !!
Hey Neville! Long time! This is generally a stupid bug in SolidWorks. In order to resolve it, switch from the problematic assembly displaying that message to a part file within that assembly, drag the bar from the bottom up and back down to it's original location and then go back to your assembly. ...

Solidworks is Busy running a command - WTH !!
Currently... I'm wasting my life waiting for this dialog to go away. I'm sure it's one of many issues that have not been resolved in SNOTWORKS. I'm on 2020 SP5 Mostly seems to be random but what I'm working on currently has an imported base sketch from Acad with a lot of lines, circles etc. These en...

Re: SW 2022 SP2 - First Thoughts
LOL! Kinda like the free version of DraftSight..... On the 'Draftsight not free anymore' nonsense by Dassault.... After about a year or 2 of using something else, out of curiosity I tried again to see if it would open a file, without telling me I need to pay. Lo and behold it works again - I'm wond...

I had to include the picture with all my demotivational images...Probably causing the idea to be placed in the "Parking Lot": 2021-10-04_10-23-27.jpg The person/s who designed that traffic flow in that pic, must be be some of ones we have here in New Zealand. Down the road from me - image...
