Unable to respond to PM's or update profile
Gentlemen,
I'm not able to respond to, or even send, any private messages. Also, seems that the option to update profile information is in a very safe spot and not available.

XYZ Coordinate Annnotation Macro for Drawings
In search of resource for writing custom macro for SolidWorks. Have basic code now that could be modified if it would be of use. Screen snippet is from an AutoCad drawing and the basic example of what needs to be able to be shown on a SolidWorks drawing. Have a requirement to be able to report X, Y ...

Re: Upgrade to 2024 SP 3.0
Work generally gets in the way of reporting. Just to update all, we've had a very successful upgrade to 2024 SP 4.0 actually across a great many workstations and laptops. Very stable and have had practically no issues whatsoever.
Greatly appreciate all that commented on this.

Re: Upgrade to 2024 SP 3.0
If you have to work with SolidWorks files, created by other companies, it is wise to check the history of these files. Often we experience external files have been based on existing files of almost 20 years old. And you loose time by solving all kind of strange effects, you never see with fresh tem...

Re: Upgrade to 2024 SP 3.0
Dean I haven't been getting it for the last two working days. When it was happening last week I was modifying SW2023 models, they were existing sketches/or adding new (?) in a clients model. The last two working days I have been working on my models which are either new or from 2022 and it's not ha...

Re: Upgrade to 2024 SP 3.0
Rich, Interesting behavior regarding the cursor. What are the chances that it could be caused by a video driver that isn't on the certified list? We have a broad range of Win 10 and Win 11 machines, so what OS are you experiencing the unstable behavior with?\ In a holding pattern until my IT departm...

I'll be on the lookout for what has been mentioned so far, and likewise, report any new behavior.

Re: Importing STEP files from CREO with embedded PMI data
Well, after some rather fruitless tries, turns out that the PMI data would have to be recreated once the file was imported. Worked at length with our VAR and a few individuals that really think outside of the box, and that is the only common solution found so far.
Thanks to all that rang in on this.

Re: How to track SolidWorks network license utilization
I wrote a tool that runs as a scheduled task on a server our CAD machines , it calls lmutils.exe, consumes and parses the output then stores that in a couple SQL tables. That' works well but the GUI I wrote to view the SQL data is crap. But it's the logs that we wanted to monitor license utilizatio...

Upgrade to 2024 SP 3.0
Will be testing 2024 SP3.1 for SolidWorks and PDM in the next couple weeks. Currently still on 2023 SP 5.0. I've 128+ users and like to be as confident as possible that we don't introduce any unforeseen "features." What has been the experience from the group that may have already updated t...

How to track SolidWorks network license utilization
Neither the SolidWorks SolidNetWork License Manager or the CADAdmin Dashboard seems to have good tools to track a bevy of network licenses over time and their daily utilization. The SolidWorks SolidNetWork License Manager is most often even wrong when listing users. I'm stumped, and so is my IT depa...

Re: Standard Parts Library: Configurations or Individual Parts?
Better to leave off the threads in the main configuration. Thanks for ringing in on this and completely agree with you about that. But if the target audience/user base don't see the threads/features when the part is opened or inserted, confusion sets in. Yes, a training/instructing/experience issue...

Re: Standard Parts Library: Configurations or Individual Parts?
Whether single part or a part with multiple configurations, there are a few settings keep in mind for performance. Keep the image quality in the part file settings on the lower end for fasteners. (i.e. McMaster Carr downloads are notorious for near max image quality and always hurts display and rebu...

Importing STEP files from CREO with embedded PMI data
