Probably no certification. Since SW can't even count and have internal round off errors. The chaos of which fork to use? Will files in one fork work on another? Each fork divide resource on development. How long did Linux took before it became "main stream"? If we can call them "main ...

Such software will not become engineering software.
Unless it get through all tests and certifications.
Add to the chaos with forked development.
First it need to start with a 3D model kernel. Or create one.

Ran the Save Bodies with "Derive resulting parts from similar bodies or cut list" on the 1000 bodies part last.
It finished with 41GB committed this morning.
SW show committed 12.6GB and used 3GB. Will try another one with that off next week.

It started yesterday. Took more time to organise and type it out. Lots of time to think when you're making subassemblies from a 500 parts assembly. That's why I hate multibody. The scan software can smooth them.
It can also fill it up to make a solid.
That's what I did and used it to cut the canard.

I usually do renaming in SW assembly.
When you change the name in the tree, it could change the filename also.
From there, you could search for "where used", ie other assembly and drawing which used that file.

Model an assembly. Make part and assembly drawings with BOM.
Throw in some import parts.
Something that can be done in a day.
