Re: How to hide surface on an upper level drawing?
Nothing imported, it's a native SW model with extruded surface. What I'm saying is that SOLIDWORKS normally ignores surface bodies when creating drawing views. If I have this model with a solid extrude, a planar surface and an extruded surface: image.png and I create a drawing view of the model, by...

Re: How to hide surface on an upper level drawing?
Hello, I'm struggling with something that must be simple, I'm just not finding it. There's an extruded surface in a part buried a couple assemblies below the drawing I'm working on. It looks like I can go drill down to the feature in the path finder and hide it there. But if I close the drawing and...

Here's how I see it, in SolidWorks talk; I see State A and State B as files. You have State A open, you save as copy and it becomes State B. While State A is still open, you take State B and try to overwrite State A, authorisation denied, someone currently has access to it. So in order for it to wo...

For those of us who deploy SOLIDWORKS, PDM, etc via admin image, the inability to repair those images can be a hassle since you have to uninstall and reinstall. AddFile is for adding new files to the vault. If you just want to copy over the top of an existing file, use the .NET System.IO.File.Copy function. As long as the file is checked out, it should work.

SOLIDWORKS Add-In to get referenced versions of files form PDM
In response to this question in the SWYMP, I created a SOLIDWORKS add-in that will attempt to retrieve the versions of files that were referenced the last time an assembly was checked in before opening the file. From what I've seen, Workgroup PDM is very project centric. You create projects in the vault and then files can be assigned to those projects.
