Generating a Parasolid file (X_T or X_B) from Parasolid based apps (Solid Edge, NX, SolidWorks, Onshape, etc...) is not a translation. It simply writes the parasolid body out to a file, so it gives the most reliable way to transport 3D data between those systems.

One of the things that really stood out to me in my very brief use is the difference in how escape and enter behave in the two programs. (And CTRL-V, by default, does not paste in SE.) Confused by your comment about CTRL-V... That is a base Windows command, and it does indeed paste by default in SE...

I've noticed in Edge I use escape a lot more b/c after creating a feature e.g. a plane, the command remains open so you can create another one without restarting the plane command. @jcapriotti We looked for printed readability especially at reduced print scales while still being relatively compact, differentiation between the letters O & I from the numbers 0 & 1, and a common font that everybody was sure to have. We ended up with Arial as our standard.

For anyone looking for a free IDE for .NET development, it appear the SharpDevelop was discontinued and now MonoDevelop is the recommended replacement (https://www.monodevelop.com/). Don't know anything about it other than that.

So when you are editing an IC, you can create multiple design or construction bodies inside of it, but from the assembly context it works no different...
