Re: Configurations of Subassemblies in a master assembly
Are the configurations that change the part at the part level, or the subassembly level? Because you will need configurations of the different styles of the part at the part level, then you can call those configurations at the sub assembly level. Then, you can call the 2 configurations at the main a...

Re: Drawing Feature Manager Design Tree Useless?
It isn't useless, however it is useless for that specific use. That is a great idea though, would love to see all notes and such show up in the tree.
one of the uses for the tree is to select and deselect different parts and assemblies and change visibility of them.

Can you record a video or screen shot of what you mean?
My guess is that you have a sub-assembly inside an assembly and it is treating the subassembly as rigid.
But this is just a guess.

The "configuration name" has to be the same for that to work.
This is for different parts with the same configuration name to be listed as the same item.
What you want for your case is this instead:

If I were to go into business for myself, for design work, I would be charging $100/hour minimum.
For drafting work that someone else designed, I would almost prefer to do it by the job. But $50 to $75/hour would be reasonable.

So it looks like you are in an active sketch, and you have the circle command activated.
What happens when you click and drag or click and click? Does it create the circle and then immediately disappear? Or does it do something else?
And CAD noobs are why we are here!! Spam away (within reason).

"Scale" is different than "shrink" Scale uses a single point and reduces everything in the direction of that point. Which means that holes that are not on center will actually MOVE closer to the scale center after scaling (center line of hole will NOT remain in the same location)...

This is not possible with the automatic settings inside solidworks. Which version of Solidworks are you using?
I would say that this is a video card driver issue.
Either your driver was updated without your knowledge (shame on you Microsoft for automatic driver updates!) or your driver needs to be updated.
Also try unchecking this:

Not really sure.
However, the website states that Solidworks 2021 is not compatible with Windows 11 64 bit. so I would doubt that SW 2016 is.
Your mileage may vary though.
Maybe someone with a similar situation can chime in.
