Re: SW PDM partner program termination
Has anyone else experienced anything similar? Is Dassault doing an across the board sweep on other partner products? For example SW PCB (which is basically Altium) was effectively retired a couple of years ago as it is no longer part of the network licensing. They we trying to push us to us it on li...

Re: SW PDM partner program termination
That's too bad, used DDM at my previous job. Dassault always coming up with a new way upset the apple cart. What's the new partner program entail? Must have require more £££ then CSI wanted to commit. This is the relevant sentence. "We have been informed by DS SolidWorks that our current Partn...

SW PDM partner program termination
Well this is a start to 2025 o[ . We use Design Data Manager (DDM) as our PDM system since 2015. They are part of the SW partner program. Yesterday we received notification that SW is terminating CSI(the company that developed DDM) as a partner in Nov. 2026. Apparently Dassault are transitioning to ...

Where are file search paths stored
How do you get rid of old search paths. deleting them from File Locations Search Paths, doesn't work. The come straight back.
Where are the stored in the registry?
This is a screen shot from my pc which is ok. Some pcs have real junk in the search paths.

One I hate is the suppressing of mates within the assembly when I create new configurations..!! I cannot seem to get my head around the logic of why this happens, or which components will be affected. It just feels so random. This might help with your confusion. Check in the configuration propertie...

Does anyone know how to stop this screen popping up when SW 2023 is started. Has been happening for a few months now. Tried all the usuals including a registry reset of SW. Even uninstalled the 3D Exp. stuff too.

Guess I am to used to "the faulty attempt with selection box in SW". It's only when you change software that you find out how much you do on automatic without realising!

Try a sketch with a single closed boundary. Beyond that I don't know. I would upload my part but I am using the Community Edition and the Professional edition won't open it's files.

Re: Extent Error
You need to select the regions of the sketch to extrude as it is not a simple closed boundary. My screen shot shows 2 selected regions. When a region is selected it turns green.

A few SE questions
1) Is there a setting to automatically set new dimensions to locked? Several times now I have been caught out by forgetting to click the padlock symbol directly to the right of a dimension. 2)Is there a way to do a rectangular or circular pattern in a sketch of selected sketch entities? 3)Can a comp...

Alternatively could make the side faces of the cut symmetric across a center plane so they don't need to pass through the center axis.

@Ronan1961 To answer your questions... There is not a Perpendicular relationship but instead look for the Angle relationship which can be at any angle including 90°. Slots if created as Slot features will have an axis in the middle, so an Axial Align or Connect can be used to say place a bolt in th...

Are you able to disable the users. We use DDM as out PDM system and that is what we do with users who have left. The hides them from coming up in general searches etc. but keeps their history.

Before we used a PDM system, I used to click on Save As and the save dialogue would bring up the folder the model was stored in.

Is there a cosmetic thread table that can be edited
Is there a table stored somewhere in SW that can be edited for cosmetic threads (not the hole wizard ones). Currently the standard callout for say M5 is "M5 machine threads". I would like M5 x 0.8 x 10 deep or M5 x 0.8 Thru. Or along a bar M5 x 0.8x 15 Long. I know I can manually edit them...

Re: Assembly Join Parts
That sounds like a lot of work. Why not simply use a representation of the assembly (maybe another configuration or derived assembly) for the machining drawings? It is very stable and separates the fabrication side from the machining side. It effectively emulated the physical world process. Start o...
