consider you are lucky that your templates actually save that option. I just wrote a post about transparency in drawings that is activated by default inside document properties, but even if turned off and saved into the templates it is not recognized as disabled. it remains turned on. I don't delete the <DIM> and replace it. I check the "Override value:" option and enter the desired text there. image.png My apologies, I assumed that is what you meant by "replacing the value with text", I didn't know you could write text in the "override value" case.

It's a good option to have for people working with multiple users creating drawings, there have been times where I wish I could distinct it visually because someone cheated their dimension rather then fixing things to get it right.

Most likely, yeah! In french it's "Jonction" which can translate to both jog point and junction depending.

You can right click on it's arrow and add a jog point and then set it parralel to the other and have it the desired length

I don't think it will add an additional layer of stress/issues. I see it as an addition to what was existing. If you wanted backwards compatibility, then it's somewhat possible now. If you did not care about it before and are stressed of what it could cause, simply enforce people to continue working...

I think DSS has adopted the "agile" model but has kept the old naming. For the last couple of releases, SP5 has bugs that didn't exist in SP4. That's not how it is supposed to work. I believe they tweaked something in how BOM's work in 2023 but I don't remember exactly what. I'm guessing ...

Out of curiosity, why do you guys need units shown with your dimensions..? Are there times when BOMs call out different units?

We have some plates in MM rather then inches and we display their thickness in decimals, it's not very intuitive but it gives the desired result.

The origin could be displayed also, but that would not necessarly give you the 3 axises you desire.
