These are two separate examples. In the first example, Reference Geometry to drive seed is mentioned before going to create pattern table. In the second example without mentioning these things straight away going to create pattern table. How is it possible?

Well, in your first example, the ref geometry needs to change position with each iteration, so those need to be input into the selection box. In the second example, this isn't the case; the sketch plane stays the same, as the base feature is flat. Unless I'm missing something, the second example doesn't need any 'helper' features/geometry to produce the features it needs. Does this make sense?
