Is the coustomer portal down?

Unread post by Jim Steinmeyer »

I am working on a simulation project that isn't solving and is giving me a link to something in the Knowledge base. While finding usable, actionable information in the knowledge base is usually a crap shoot at best I thought I would give it a try only to be met with the following link in the customer portal. It shows that my subscription is good, so why the locked links? Does this mean the KB is down?
I haven't been very nasty in the Swamp so I don't think this is in retaliation for that.

Even though you're logged in, it always says Guest User. Click My Profile at the upper left, then click the home button. No idea why it does that but it's been that way for months. :?

That's SOP (or maybe SNAFU) for me. After logging in I always have to do a secret handshake that's typical of getting into any customer service site of DSS. I always click "My Profile" then after that loads (often requires clicking my browser's refresh button several times) then click the little house. Then it loads a blank screen again and I refresh browser a few more times then I get back to the screen you show but without the locks. Hope this helps you out.

the two step login has been like that for a long time...another pita verification layer.

I am not sure that it is a verification layer or just a thing that they never tested............

I'm pretty sure it's a "feature" with "expected behavior"

it is obvious the company is not a fan of clarity when the repeatedly embrace obfuscation.
