PROBLEM WITH drawingscales.txt

Unread post by steph »

Hi everyone
I'm having trouble with this. It doesn't seem to work all the time. I should be able to have access to the different scales I added to that file when I click on the scale value that is on the bottom right of the sreen when in a drawing but they are not there by default. To get them, I have to click the "options" icon to get the option screen to show up and simply close it and there they are. Am I missing something?

I modified the drawingscale file per:
http://help.solidworks.com/2020/english ... scales.htm

Make sure you added them to the correct section in the text file (ANSI, ISO, etc.), whichever one matches your drafting standard. Here's our file if you want to compare or test further.

Hi Mike
They are in the right place since they show up after I click the options ICON.
Is there another "default" file somewhere?

There is the one that comes with SWX install files. You don't have multiple locations defined under System Options>File Locations>Drawing Scale Standards by any chance?

No, just the one location where the file is.
It's as if the file was not always read, pretty strange........

Are your files stored locally? I think I've seen strange behavior like this with our old cloud storage solution.
