I swore I'd have nothing to do with that f*** French company and their convention ever again, but for you I must. I registered and have both your talks on my schedule.

Oh, the website adds the asterisks automatically.

Sounds interesting! Please, share the presentation link afterwards. I cant attend to it =(
Re: The Best Presentation of 3DXW22 (AKA SW2022) - Do Not Miss It!
I am very excited about the one on Wednesday.
Unfortunately, with the sudden change to virtual, I had to record both of them very quickly in order to submit them before the Friday deadline. I am not completely satisfied with the quality of the Monday presentation, but I have high hopes for the second one (the imported geometry optimization topic).

Your Wednesday talk happens to fall right on our weekly model review, a half-hour meeting I hold with 11 other mechanical engineers who are working on our current big project. I put your talk on our agenda. Looking forward to it.

Don't forget to submit your survey response at the end.
Also, after the presentation, I will be in the Q&A Community, in case you have any questions or suggestions.
Re: The Best Presentation of 3DXW22 (AKA SW2022) - Do Not Miss It!
We have just opened the Orchestra seats, so we can accommodate 90 more last-minute attendees.
Last chance to reserve a seat with an excellent view!

The one from Monday was pretty bland. Nothing much compared to what everyone else is presenting on that topic.berg_lauritz wrote: ↑Wed Feb 09, 2022 10:01 am Why were you not satisfied with the Monday one?

The one I will present today contains cutting-edge info that I just discovered recently. Plus, working with Imported Geometry in Large Assemblies is a hot topic at the moment.
Re: The Best Presentation of 3DXW22 (AKA SW2022) - Do Not Miss It!
The lecture was very interesting as far as I could see. Unfortunately, the technology prevented me from attending the lecture completely and throughout.
After about 15 minutes and another time after 30 minutes, the technology failed.
I already had this problem on Tuesday at another lecture.
Is the problem only with me, or also with other participants.

All the "good" news about SWX makes me feel like I'm driving a truck with two trailers straight into a dead end.

You can re-watch it in 15 minutes. Moreover you can rewind as many times as you want. Same link.Hansjoerg wrote: ↑Wed Feb 09, 2022 1:30 pm The lecture was very interesting as far as I could see. Unfortunately, the technology prevented me from attending the lecture completely and throughout.

I feel that parts of it were covered before - but I'm very glad I watched the assembly visualization presentation before watching this again @Alin - they complement each other in a very good way.
Re: The Best Presentation of 3DXW22 (AKA SW2022) - Do Not Miss It!
The main "new thing" was the importance of saving models in display states with no appearances. That was mind-blowing for me.berg_lauritz wrote: ↑Wed Feb 09, 2022 2:10 pm I feel that parts of it were covered before - but I'm very glad I watched the assembly visualization presentation before watching this again @Alin - they complement each other in a very good way.

Yes!
And that works so nicely with the display states you can create from an assembly vis. This can also be incredibly helpful for our production if they want to look at specifics (i.e. fasteners only - rainbow colors for parts - etc.)

Very nice session. We look forward to having Defeatured configurations when we upgrade to 2021 later. That seems a good reason to get 2021 and not 2020. Hope most of what you presented is not specific to 2022.
As I tried to ask on the Q&A place, I am interested to learn how well it handles geometry changes. Also if it handles surface bodies.
I also didn't realize that a width mate could be used as a limit mate only better (I did know that for slots). I can't wait to try that out. I hope it goes more smoothly to the very end than limit mates do.

- For surface bodies, the primitive simplifications like box or cylinder would work. If you have other use cases, let me know with concrete examples.
- Geometry changes are handled pretty well. Simply update the Defeature.
- I love the Free Width Mate. I call it the Geometric Limit Mate.

Hey, what version of Flash do I need to install to see the presentation?
Am I doing something wrong? Anyone else figure this out? Do I need to watch a video on how to make it work?

@mattpeneguy I found that sometimes presentations would start OK and sometimes I had to reload a few times and go back to my calendar and try again. I also had some of them start with the sound turned off and it took me a bit to find the button to turn the sound on.
Work got busy today, so I have things I need to go back and watch since I didn't catch them "live".

He's over there on 3DXP stating other presentations should get the award for best presentation, but I'm sure his should be at the top of the list, too.
I may try again tomorrow, or even this weekend to get in and see it...He's always got good info in his presentations.

I really enjoyed @Alin 's Assembly Visualization presentation. I learned quite a few things I didn't know from that presentation. Thanks Alin!

I was very interested, but due to my time zone and schedule I could not see the presentation.
Is it possible to see it in another way?

Good to know it's not something with my computer/system.
It's nice that they are trying to put the presentations up as fast as possible. I guess it's a little easier because they've got "canned" presentations as opposed to having to film them and then upload them separately.

Re: The Best Presentation of 3DXW22 (AKA SW2022) - Do Not Miss It!
Thanks @Alin, but I'm still seeing the black box only on my end. It appears that it is working for others, though. I tried several other videos and can't play any of them. I have only tried this in Chrome. I logged out and back into the site, too.
Is anyone else still having this problem?

Try this, for now:
1.) From any of the emails welcoming you to Day 1, 2, Final from "3DEXPERIENCE World 2022" > Your Agenda link
2.) Agenda tab at top > Session Catalog > Search "Alin" > Select Replay Session button > Plays successfully

This is what we were told:
Make sure that you are in the Virtual Event Platform to view the sessions. If you are trying to view them from recordings from 3dexperienceworld.com then you will see those black boxes. Here is the link to the Virtual Event Platform:
https://reg.3dexperienceworld.com/flow/ ... ge/Catalog
I tried that and it works. So, once you login, simply search for the keyword "Alin" and you will be able to watch both presentations.

Yet another thing where a simple error message on screen explaining the problem would be sufficient to tell you that the error is how you logged in, instead of 2/3 of the people going there and seeing a black box.Alin wrote: ↑Thu Feb 10, 2022 1:50 pm This is what we were told:

Hey SW...we are getting a big black box where a video should be.

THEN WHY IS DOING IT THAT WAY EVEN POSSIBLE!?!?!?!?!?!

Is anyone else still having trouble viewing the replays? I am certain that I am accessing via the correct "portal" (the UI displays the top blue bar with "logout" at the far right", and the address bar is https://reg.3dexperienceworld.com/...).
However when I click on a session in my calendar, the Session Details appear, then when I click on Replay Session...
...I am sent to a full-page version of the same Session Details, except now there is no replay session button at all! Yet my username still appears at top right. The URL is now https://events.3dexperienceworld.com/widget...
Get it together, DS/SW!
- Your admin portal constantly displays an error when we try to log in unless I do some magical combination of clearing my cache, trying a private window, and doing a rain dance, and I can never seem to replicate the exact procedure.
- Your customer portal constantly displays errors, displays blank screens, requires reloads/relog-ins in order to work correctly, and frequently decides that our subscription has lapsed and displays locks on much of the content. The cure for this is the same song-and-dance as with the admin portal.
- "The platform" does not work much better for the casual and less-trained user... searching for "3DExperienceWorld" produces no results for the 2022 edition.
It is a very unpleasant experience to interact with official DS/SW content online.

Alin, Respectfully, I get the feeling that there's very little hope from the users that gaining visibility or tagging DSS employees will have any more affect than shouting into a cave or posting comments here. The people in charge will go on believing what they choose to believe. It is clear from their responses that they are not interested in the users concerns, instead they remain focused on their ideologies with acute tunnel vision.
