I have a strange problem. I recently upgraded to a Logitech MX Ergo trackball, and a certain sequence of events causes it to do strange things in solidworks.
Typically, the scroll wheel works as normal. 1 click of the wheel results in a tiny zoom in or out. However, if I click on the Chrome browser, and then go to solidowrks, the zoom wheel sends the part flying to the next state. (There may be other things that trigger this behavior, but Chrome is the one I've confirmed can cause an issue.)
Has anyone seen this before? I can't find a setting in the logitech software that would change this. (SW 2020 SP5) Please click on the GIF below to see what I am seeing.

Re: Logitech MX Ergo Trackball - Zooming issue
Yes, this is an issue with Solidworks.
I have the same issue with my mouse. If your focus is not in Solidworks, but your mouse pointer is inside Solidworks and you hit the mouse wheel, it zooms to infinity.
The only fix that I have found is to put the zoom to fit function on a hotkey....or not do that.....but I still do it on occasion.

Thanks for helping me identify the specifics of what causes this issue.

Solid Edge does the same thing, so I'm blaming this one on Logitech.

Re: Logitech MX Ergo Trackball - Zooming issue
Using the Logitech App, Turn off "Smooth Scrolling." That should solve it.
I love the MX Ergo, though the buttons to tend to wear down after a few years, especially the MMB.

I turned off smooth scrolling and it didn't make any difference.
