John was the first SW CEO I had the pleasure to meet. It was one of the events organized by Javelin Technologies for their customers. I had just won the second place in the Cool Design Contest.John McEleney wrote: ↑Mon Mar 29, 2021 3:33 pm Matt,

I remember from John's speech the importance to partner with one of the Top Two vendors in the industry. Any industry.

The first time I met John McEleney was at the Anchor Bar in Buffalo. The home of Buffalo chicken wings. John was sales exec for SW corp, and I was an Application Engineer for a local reseller. 1998? I think?

Olympic Tool and Die was the company I was working for before joining Javelin Technologies. 2002-2009.
Re: John McEleney Joins CADForum!
One of my most memorable meetings with @John McEleney was at SolidWorks World 2007(?) in New Orleans. While I don't recall the exact conversation (I may have been a bit inebriated - it was the last year they had hard alcohol at the Tuesday night event), I do know that my usual brutal honest rose up and I spoke my mind, telling John that something about SW sucked. I'd been a part of the "Blog Squad" for a short time then, and my blog was hosted by SolidWorks, so when I couldn't get onto the site to write a new post, I figured my mouth had ended my time as a blogger. Turned out to just be a coincidence, but something that I still remember.

John was at our very first User Group meeting when I started SwugOne 15 years ago.
When I get home, I'll share our picture with him from SWW06.
