How to add a chamfer to an edge in sheet metal

Unread post by Tera »

In this very simple sheet metal I need to add a chamfer to the blue edge. It doesn't go through the whole length. So I can not use chamfer or break corner tools.

Drawing a triangle and using it for cut-extrude cuts the whole thickness and will result to this.

Is there any other way to do this? How can I add a chamfer to an edge of a sheet metal that doesn't go through the whole length, but a part of it?

thank you.

Choose this chamfer type (which is the only one I ever use. I wish it could be set as default.)

That gives you this option below. (I assume this works the same on sheetmetal.):

The other advantage to using that type of chamfer is that it gives you the option to convert it to a fillet and back.
