Cosmetic Hole Pattern Border

Is there any way of creating a border when using the cosmetic hole pattern? I cant seem to select a sketch to define the border area or offset from face edge. I know the fill pattern feature has an option to have border but i have too many holes so need to use cosmetic holes. Thanks

Create a face split using the sketch and then you can select that face to define the boundary.
