Hello all!
I just want to preface this with this. I am still fairly new to the CAD scene, I use Solidworks to design parts to print on my 3d printer. I am attempting to create a model for an existing handle for a scanner. I have gotten this far and the side profile is extremely close(still some tweaking to do).
I was hoping to be pointed in the right direction. I want to round out the edges to make it more like something someone could easily grab onto. I have tried using the fillet tool to no avail.
Any suggestions would be much appreciated.

Yeah, you're not going to get that with fillets. Start here: https://episodes.dezignstuff.com/blog/Crowley723 wrote: ↑Mon Jun 19, 2023 3:45 pm Ideally, it would look something like this.

Thanks for the quick response.
Re: Trying to Radius Complex Surface
Can you imagine/describe the shape you're trying to make? The edge around the handle is long with a lot of potential error points. Using a variable radius fillet will be one way to go.
Also, the part has a very extruded look. If you really want a more organic 3d rounded shape, you have to approach this differently with surfaces. How to do that is a different set of discussions.

Maybe not exactly as in the photo, maybe not A-class surfaces, but you can only use roundingmatt wrote: ↑Mon Jun 19, 2023 9:10 pm

And now a bit towards A-class surfaces, ta-dam!
And as you can see below, the model prepared in this way can be used not only for home 3D prints
