Solidworks and 3Dconnexion Spacemouse

Unread post by Homers_rear_end »

Im just starting out trying to learn the fundamentals of Solidworks and using a Spacemouse for the first time and I'm having a weird problem.
I have 4 parts that are all working well with the Spacemouse - everything moves like you'd expect it to with no issues but when I combine them into an assembly, the SpaceMouse goes crazy - pull on the SM and the assembly dives bottom right. Push on it and it vanishes top left etc etc.

I've reset the mouse, re-installed the software, restarted the PC etc but the behaviour of this is still the same with this Assembly.

Can anyone please suggest anything? I'm sure that I've done something stupid but I don't have enough experience to work out what's wrong!

SOLVED
I just deleted every part apart from the main one and then clicked 'undo' till everything was back. Now it all works as expected. I didn't actually do anything apart from delete and undo! Weird..

I have found that sometimes it needs to be "reset"

One way to reset it is to use isometric view in the orientation toolbar. Just quickly switch to iso view, then resume working.

I don't know why this works, but it does.

Just a WAG, but could one part have been miles away and the rotation was set to rotate about center or origin instead of a part or geometry? That gives the appearance that everything flies out of view or disappears.
