I've been suffering of this for more than 10 years.
Because of the size of the sheet metal assemblies I work on, and the count of the components, I mostly work in section view. Sometimes isolate is not enough for my situation.
But it seems that Solidworks can not change the appearance (color, Surface finish etc) while in a section view.
Is there any work around to change the appearance of a part in a section view?
I frequently have to exit the section view to change appearance and go back to last section view.
Just thought someone may know a way to ease this process.
thanks.
How to change appearance of a part in a section view?
Re: How to change appearance of a part in a section view?
Hi Tear,
There is no known workaround to this that I know of other than if you are wanting to apply appearances to a part in an assembly, you can open the part into its own window and apply or change the appearance there whilst retaining the section view in the assembly.
