A user here gets an error message when he tries to drag a washer from Toolbox into an assembly:
For me it works fine, but we can't find anything different in our Toolbox settings or other settings. The Toolbox files are local, downloaded from a central server. What should we look for?
Thanks
Dwight

Re: Drag and Drop failed
What version of Solidworks and what version of Excel does he have? Is it different than yours?

Server Rights?

Have you tried another user login on that PC, maybe something tied to that user?

Re: Drag and Drop failed
I had this issue and found that my clipboard manager did not play well with SWX. I use Ditto and had to add solidworks.exe to the exceptions settings in Ditto. That prevented the message from popping every time I added a part to an assy, but it also prevents using Ditto to copy/paste within SWX.
Re: Drag and Drop failed
Thanks for the replies. We both use SW2022 sp5 and Excel 2407 (Office 365). It's works for him intermittently. I'll check about the clipboard managers. I also don't know that he has any other drag and drop issues in Solidworks.
I had thought of this as a Toolbox issue, but the replies take it as being a drag/drop issue. I see there's a right-click menu on the Toolbox files in the Design Library, with an "Insert into assembly . . ." option. I'll see if using that works for him.

Re: Drag and Drop failed
The reason why I brought it up is because, if I remember correctly (I don't use Toolbox very often), there is a design table in the files from Toolbox and you need to access it when inserting Toolbox items into an assembly.Dwight wrote: ↑Thu Oct 03, 2024 7:43 am Thanks for the replies. If there are Excel problems, then it might cause an issue.
