Hi all,
So in the attached file, I'm trying to create a linear pattern with a pre-existing linear pattern as the body/feature to pattern. When I executed the command, SW gave me the below error message And trying to do it in the "Bodies" box, when I select "Horiz Pattern" as the pattern content, it just doesn't get added to the box.
Any advice ? All help is appreciated!
Thanks in advance,

You can do both directions in one feature.

Re: Linear Pattern of another linear pattern (perpendicular directions)?
I generally avoid patterning features because it is too finicky IMHO. However, when you tried to pattern bodies, you were still selecting features and not bodies. I was able to get it to work by selecting each body individually from the graphics window (box select works great for this).
The way I would do it, is simply define Direction2 to pattern. Tada!
edit: @jcapriotti types faster.

You can do it, but you've made it hard on yourself. Oh, I see @jcapriotti has beat me to it. You selected bodies for the first pattern, so you have to do it that way for the second pattern as well, and for some reason you have to pattern the bodies, you can't pattern the pattern.
And what's the deal with the little ball on top?
I know I've said in the past that pattern and mirror work best with bodies, but in this case, what you're doing is pretty simple and bodies actually complicate it. Is this a hair brush?
