Anyone have any tricks for getting old 2D text, non table BOM, from a DWG into Excel?

I recommend trying "Snag it" for this.

You can still get a perpetual license for $63 although I think they are going subscription only with the next version o[. Well worth it for general screen grabs and markup.

It has a function called "Grab Text". I took a screen grab of a table from a drawing, then in the Snag-It editor, select "Grab Text"

It then opens another window with the table and text. Select Copy All.....

Then paste into Excel

From there you can cut and paste from Excel to a SolidWorks General table if you want it there in SolidWorks instead. I tried copy / paste from the Snag-It grab text but it wouldn't paste into a SolidWorks table. So you must go the Excel route first.

I saw I could do that in AutoCAD...unfortunately I don't have an AutoCAD license at the moment. This is actually in Draftsight.
