Re: Watercooler Talk
Last Friday cooked for a Wedding Rehearsal - pig and Chicken - The process for the chicken is to grill it for at least two hours, first hour is just charcoal and garlic salt, the next hour I add wood to smoke and our homemade sauce, cooked slow, ends up juicy.
Most people in our area don't have a clue on how to grill chicken, pull off the skin and it tastes just like baked chicken, ours the flavor goes all the way to the bone.

We are in the month of Ramadan in Turkey,
we do not eat or drink anything between 04:15 and 20:00 during Ramadan. (fasting)
I usually do not get hungry until 17:00
But these photos you posted! I'm passing out. I feel like I can smell it. (Chickens)

My wife bakes a pretty good turkey with stuffing and all, but really, it's hard to beat the turkey that comes off of a rotisserie. The skin is tough, which protects and stops the moisture from releasing from the turkey, let me tell you it is better then any turkey I tasted, plus with the Rub on the outside, unreal.

I respectfully disagree to the point where we need a cook off, there is no way that you can make a better turkey using ground grubbers and their oil, compared to a good but mild Dry Rub marinated/permeated through the meat, and allowing that said Turkey to get mounted on a spit, put in the cooker and right below have some nice hot charcoal coals and also wood pellets for the smoky flavor, this said Turkey releases its oil from it's own skin and constantly bastes it's own meat. (Just like the Dove Soap "I love my own skin" commercials)
You're trying to tell me that you extract oil from ground grubbers and use that...

Re: Watercooler Talk
You got your head turned the wrong way on that Idea, the pigs inside the turkey is only to keep the turkey from excessive moving, which will knock most of the meat off as it's getting ready.mike miller wrote: ↑Wed May 05, 2021 7:51 am That pig needs to learn appropriate behavior....sniffing.....yuck.
I actually ran into an, almost, a really bad issue on that job, I needed to have the pig ready by 3:30 last Fri and about 1:45 I noticed that we got a problem. We needed to deliver the pig whole and serve it as well, so the problem was that the pigs face that was inside the turkey didn't absorb any smoke and was actually white, so I yelled SOS to my wife and had to actually hack that Turkey off the spit. Lucky for us it took that hour & a half to smoke it up to where you couldn't hardly see it, so I'm thinking that's the last time you'll see that in my Rotisseries

Man that looks amazing! I've always wanted to go whole hog, but tackling an entire piglet is intimidating to say the least. Maybe you can try stuffing the turkey into the pig, or better yet a turducken in there. Hey Omur,
I get a numb arm when my elbow is dangling in the air, not pressed against a surface, so generally when working I will setup my chair so that the arms arrive flush with the desk surface.
Have you tried a vertical mouse? A few of my co-workers work with this in order to not get a wrist tendonitis

Like @AlexLachance says, I set up my chair so my arms are flat or slightly above the surface. Plus, I got a desk with a curved edge so that I don't get a sharp edge in my arm. Plus, I use a trackball, so my right hand stays mostly stationary and doesn't have to keep repositioning, especially the wrist.Ömür Tokman wrote: ↑Thu May 06, 2021 8:53 am irrelevant to matters, but I'm curious.

Frankly I thought but I don't know if I can get used to it.
If I request it from the company and cannot use it, it would not be nice, I would spend unnecessary costs. I looked around for someone using this mouse to try it, but there isn't.
frankly i'm wondering, is it useful?

To avoid long-term injuries, your shoulder has to be "loose", not "pushing upwards", and your elbow needs to do a nice 90degree. If you have to lift the elbow, your mouse sensitivity is not high enough. At least, that is my opinion.
Re: Watercooler Talk
I did a Hawaiian Style pig roast for a few years. Dug a pit in the field, lined the bottom with a bunch of granite rocks 4-8in in Dia. Placed probably 1/4-1/2 face cord over the rocks and set it on fire. I then wrapped the piggy up in a combination of wet cheese cloth and an outer layer of a few layers of commercial aluminum foil.SamSpade wrote: ↑Wed May 05, 2021 11:09 am Man that looks amazing! My wife tells me that we should cut down on our meat intake and eat more fish. I tell her, 'when I can fish for cows and pigs we will do just that'.
After the wood burnt down to nice glowing embers I dropped the pig in and burried the entire thing in dirt around 4-6PM. Noon to one the next day I dug it up. I buried it with 4-6 steel loops around the piggy. Threw a pole thru the hoops and pulled the piggy out. Unwrap, eat.
Worked very well except the one year we had a torrential downpour. Bottom side of the piggy was cooked....top side, not so much. Had to break out the grill.
If I were to do it again I would probably try to find a big piece of semi flexible sheet metal and place that over the wrapped piggy after putting a small layer of dirt over it and then burry it deeper. Biggest pain was getting the dirt off without stabbing the pig. I figure surround the pig with dirt, enough to absorb the direct heat, cover and bury to keep the heat in. You can then aggressively dig it out to the sheet metal, pull the sheet metal out and probably pull the pig out.
Alot of work but kinda fun.

That does sound like a lot of work, but the trick is long and slow, best in lovin and cookinMJuric wrote: ↑Thu May 06, 2021 9:29 am I did a Hawaiian Style pig roast for a few years. Dug a pit in the field, lined the bottom with a bunch of granite rocks 4-8in in Dia. Placed probably 1/4-1/2 face cord over the rocks and set it on fire. I then wrapped the piggy up in a combination of wet cheese cloth and an outer layer of a few layers of commercial aluminum foil.

From my understanding, either the chair is not made for you, or your desk could be a little higher for you.
I'm 1.82cm (71.6")
Yes, the tables are higher than standards. (10cm)
Maybe I should shorten the legs of the table. (If the boss permits)

My Wife's a vegan. I'd pull the pig out, cut enough up, well pull apart enough, for people to eat and then go take a shower. Every year when I came back down to eat, the pigs head was covered with a towel.Roasted By John wrote: ↑Thu May 06, 2021 10:03 am That does sound like a lot of work, but the trick is long and slow, best in lovin and cookin

I got my own mouse, two, one at home and one at work.Ömür Tokman wrote: ↑Thu May 06, 2021 9:37 am For a few days I had been looking for a method similar to @Frederick 's for my elbows. I don't want to raise the chair because then I'm sitting hunched over (back pain). Yes I will take the risk for my wrists and ask for this mouse.
@matt I don't think my boss will get a 3d mouse or trackball. these devices are quite expensive in Turkey.
Got my own 3D mouse also. Found one at work. Someone ordered but didn't like it.
At other job, I bring my LCD for second screen.
Whatever I need to do my job. Just a lot to carry when they send me home. One cardboard box is not enough

Easy to rent one from HomeDepot if they let me know I'll be going home before I go to work
