SWX Launcher Issue
Is there any way to inactivate (lock) the SWX version which is in your system but you are not using it? Because some time when I open a SWX previous version (2019v) files, straight away it is default to 2021v and open.
Yes, with 3 different version, you should have 3 different SW folders.
The folder you show had SW uninstalled.

Re: Inactivate the SWX
When you right click on a Solidworks file in Windows Explorer, Open with, choose another app.
You can pick which version of SW. You might need to do it to all 3 SW files.
For me, usually it'll open with the SW I opened last.
I usually start SW first before opening files in Windows Explorer.

Re: Inactivate the SWX
Usually if no SWX file is left open in the system and I click on SWX file icon, a window menu open and will show all the versions available in the system and ask for the option.
I do not know why such window does not come now.

This is the issue I have if I do so it opens with latest version.Frederick_Law wrote: ↑Wed May 26, 2021 8:55 am I usually start SW first before opening files in Windows Explorer.
Example:
If SWX 2019 is left opened and I click a SWX icon in 2019v, it opens in 2020v. Notice that in this case SWX 2020v is not left opened.

Right click each file type and select "Open with". Select "SolidWorks Launcher" from the list. When double clicking a file to open, it should now prompt for which version to open it in.

Does this help?
It sounds like you just need to reset the settings to default (for opening files and file associations) and then adjust them again.

Re: Inactivate the SWX
If the launcher isn't listed, you may have to go and right-click on your file and select "open with -> choose another app" as others have suggested.
If on Win10, select more and scroll all the way down then select look for another app on this pc Select swShellFileLauncher.exe and click ok. I have no idea if that will work for you but it's a start. For me, it offers to let me choose which SW opens the file when I try and open something and I don't already have SW open.

Re: Inactivate the SWX
It should be in your solidworks installation folder. I'm guessing that you've installed it somewhere other than the default location.
