Changing layer order
Changing layer order
Is there a way to change the layer order of the drawing layers. There is a move button in the layer menu, but that does nothing.

I'm not aware of any way, but to be honest I never noticed that "Move" button before either. Like you, I can't get it to do anything.

Move option in Layer: To move entities to another layer, select the entities in the drawing, select the layer to move to, and click Move. Alternatively, you can select the entities, and in the Layer toolbar, select the layer name.

So the Solidworks forum still had some interesting stuff. Interesting.
I did a quick search and came across this from deepack

Yes you can do that via a macro. Actually there are few steps to do that.
First you export the layers details as an excel file. Rearrange the layers in excel and then use the macro to delete the layers and add them per the excel sheet. The only drawback is that any entity relation with the layers will get lost as you'll be deleting them all.

There are different methods that are just left to the preferences of the people.
