How to delete grayed out InContextFeature in asm?
How to delete grayed out InContextFeature in asm?
After an asm has been bounced around, copied, pack-n-go, and renamed several times, I've ended up with these grayed out InContextFeatures referencing old obsolete parts. Looks messy presenting to customer. Cannot outright delete. No External Ref. No Parent/Child relationships. Renaming a certain way replaces the text and shows the old part name. (This is an issue with the customer). So need this link complete deleted. Any suggestions?

Re: How to delete grayed out InContextFeature in asm?
I've never seen this icon in a feature tree - could anyone clarify as to what this feature is? Clearly seems to be a link to the assembly, but I'm just not seeing how it has been made.
Is this in your History folder? If so, you could just hide the whole folder.

These are called update holders. Just hide them by right clicking on the assy name in the tree and select the option

I cannot simply hide them. The old parts names are now classified as CUI. So by the names showing up in the greyed out text that cannot be deleted, it's against contract. So I've gone ahead and rebuild the all the assemblies from scratch. But was hoping there was an easier way to manipulate this undeletable reference data.

The only way to delete them is remove the incontext relations.

And thus my question Gupta. There are no listed relations when I rmb and show External References. rmb on the greyed out link show no options. There is no Parent/Child relationship shown. So how to I find the incontext relation from a part that was deleted out of the assembly months ago?

They should go off themselves when you remove the external references. May be send the files to SW via your VAR to get the tech team work on it and provide solution to tackle similar cases in future.
