It's not a personal attack on you, Fred.
Read the thread of the FeatureCam customers being forced over to Fusion.

What a sh!tshow the next few years are looking to be for us technicians, engineers and draftsmen.
Re: You think DSS is bad......
I would give everything for new release of SW without new features and with bug fixes

Maybe I'm getting linked to a different thread but when I read that thread it sounds like people are pissed off because they "Didn't get enough" rather being completely ignored.mike miller wrote: ↑Tue Mar 16, 2021 3:25 pm ....check this thread out. https://forums.autodesk.com/t5/featurec ... -p/9512022

FeatureCAM is a CAM program that does not require a CAD package. It has a very basic modeler not unlike many CAM programs. For the most part you import what you want to machine into it that was designed elsewhere.
What seemed to have happened here is that the people where asking for a more robust modeling package that increased existing capabilities but rather than doing that they included F360 as the base modeler.
I can understand not wanting that as the modeler but seems to me that is entirely different than being completely ignored by DS.
Also as I perused through that thread I saw a bunch of posts that sound like "How can I help". One of them even said "Contact me so I can call you and we can discuss this". When was the last time you saw that from DS?
Autodesk suffers and has for a while, the scourge of having WAY to many similar programs. It's much like DS having CATIA, Solidworks etc. At some point they will have to consolidate and to some degree they have been doing that for 10 yeas or so.
I used to use Surfcam alot. You could do basic modeling, drawing etc in it. This sounds to me like if I requested an enhancement of a "Better modeler" and instead of them expanding existing tools they gave me an entirely new, but largely much more functional, modeling system. While it would be a PIA learning all new stuff, I just got a new, better modeling system for free. Again, nothing like DS pushing people toward an entirely different system and asking them to pay for the switch even though they never asked for the switch in the first place.

And the screenshot I show is AD employee responding to forum questions.
Same employee could and did give solution and SPR or even fix same day or within a week.
SW employee only come and delete post.
We did had a few great one in SW forum.

Oh, this was wide open...how about this. That release is called Solid Edge! ;-) Is SE bullet proof? Heck no. But do they address the issues in a timely and respectful manner? Absolutely.
