rodface wrote: Wed May 17, 2023 8:28 pm Is anyone here with a company that is a Solidworks "MRN" account?

MRN stands for Multi-Reseller Network (I believe).

There is no single VAR that "owns" our licenses/serial numbers, and we have an account manager with Dassault.

My reason for asking is: I contacted our VAR who is local to me for more information about the changes we've been discussing in this thread. They told me that DS is migrating Solidworks accounts onto the 3DX platform, and the Fourth wave happened last weekend, May-13. Your account's migration coincides with "losing" the Customer Portal, as I understand it.

However, because my company is MRN, we are not part of these migrations as of yet; as for when it will happen -- they said I had to ask DS because they don't know.

So, looking to see if anyone else is in the same boat as us. I'm quite curious to know what their strategy is for accounts such as ours.
Push them, they're being lazy and not wanting to do their job.

LOL!

So I went to download the latest and greatest yesterday.

My username and password works with: mysolidworks.com
My username and password works with: eu1.iam.3dexperience.3ds.com/
My username and password does not work with: login.solidworks.com/

Sent a support request to my VAR.

Here is their response:

Hello Christopher,

I will reach out to SolidWorks Corp and ask them to review your account and find out what needs to be done to resolve it. I will be in touch with you throughout the week with each update that I receive from SolidWorks. Unfortunately, it is not a quick process to resolve account discrepancies since there are a large volume of SW Users sitting in the same position...

Priceless

In the meantime, get your VAR to do the download and provide you with the files. That is what you pay them for.

Yeah, that's what they did.

What concern's me is I'm now officially retired and in the future I won't have my generous employer to pay my subscription fee. Ponying up $1,300 a year for software subs out of an effectively fixed income is not likely going to happen, so I will be going off of subscription in March next year.

I'll need to make certain and download everything I need before then.

cheers,

LOL.

So, today I go to log into 3dexperience.3ds.com.

It happily accepts my creds and then presents a blank screen.

This is a "software" company, right?

How many times do we have to explain it. This is not software, this is a PLATFORM!

Interesting, sounds like the same issue I have with my Maker account. I can use Swym fine with my work email, but if I log out and back in with my Maker nothing works at all. I have to clear cookies and cache to then be able to log back in with work account.

The French aren't exactly known for their cookies. They have Macarons which could qualify as a cookie, but I can't stand those things.....so sweet I feel like my teeth are gonna fall out. >>>

The admin portal isn't important. You can do without it while we figure out how to write a replacement platform. We will have it up and running again in a few weeks. I mean months. It definitely won't be years.

Yeah, already cried on the VARs shoulder some about this. They basically turned off all the old systems without having a replacement ready to go. It's called hitting a deadline regardless if its done because of management pressure.

Just found out today one of our top executives thought we had migrated all products to the new system PLM already. In reality, none of the legacy products have, only a new very limited basic product that was developed in the new system. There isn't a migration even planned. So they were lied to by other management.....likely to meet goals and get their bonus.
