Get Write Access

Since a large portion of our assembly models contain shared components we have our users opening their assemblies in Read Only mode and only taking Write Access for parts they intend to change. However I have one new user who does not have the option to get write access show in the file drop down like everyone else. I have selected "customize" to see if the option is hidden, but it just doesn't appear to be there. Does anyone have any suggestions as to how to get this option to show? in it somewhere within the system options? I have tried searching there but have not found it there either.

Make sure that they have these checked.
