hole wizard text file

Unread post by Bryan O »

It's been many years but at 1 time I changed a system file that controlled the list of holes that were available in the hole wizard.
I modified it to show only the common holes that we use and not show the 100's of other holes we do not.
It just shortened the list of choices.

I have forgot where this text file is

You are looking for configuring your toolbox:

Then you can check and uncheck the types of holes that show up in the wizard:

I am not familiar with a text file that controls this, but it can be controlled via the Toolbox.

If you go to the start menu and pick the Solidworks Tools folder, then open the Toolbox Settings app.

What you are looking for is called calloutformat.txt and is located according to:

I thought calloutformat.txt only controlled how the information is shown in drafting, not which features were available in the Hole Wizard

It's been a while since I messed with it. But, yes if you are just trying to trim down the number and types of holes that are available within the Hole Wizard, you don't have to modify the calloutformat.txt file. If you want to modify "some" of the options, then you may have to modify the format file.

Thank You, This does look very familiar although I do remember doing the same thing in another way.
I will go through this and customize a list of just the features I want.
