I think his statement sums up the attitude of many of us here.

You have to use it to know what it is...Sums up the 3DXP software, as far as I can tell.

Thanks, Jim. I just went to the site trying to get amped up to use it. Not gonna happen. Zero vision. Jason thought it had desktop as part of it, @jcapriotti, can you say why you think that?

I was just reminded of something I wrote a long time ago.

Most of the names have changed, but the overall intent is still the same. Instead of V6, we now say 3DX. Nobody seems to mention Catia v6 anymore. The plan is still the same - push SW users over to 3dx. Nothing has changed but the names in the last 8 years. Why it will be more successful now with just different names?

I'm just guessing that you get DesktopWorks and xDesign and a 3DX account connected to both. Now whether you can ignore the 3dx stuff and just run the DesktopWorks by itself and save locally I don't know.

It's just marketing hype. More time saying a lot of words, but not telling you anything.

"You get a wide variety of industry leading solidworks design tools"
