Can't Change View Orientation

Working on a simple part file, and all of a sudden my Mouse Gestures are not working, and I can't select any of the standard views from the View Orientation menu at the top middle of the window.

Did I click on the wrong thing?

Any Ideas?

Oh I think I figured it out (kind of). I was looking at an exploded view. When I collapsed the exploded view the problem went away.
Still don't understand the reason for the behavior, but at least I made it go away.

I believe that.. an Exploded View.. is still a View.
The mouse gestures breaking however, makes less sense. Maybe it's a blended context (or exception) which lacks an applicable palette.
