DimXpert for "Practical" use

Do anyone has any success using DImXpert for practical use?
A lot of the example i found online mostly in the past just showed on it being used on simple machined part
Do it perform well on molded part, eg: plastic parts with drafted faces, non planar faces, and cosmetic fillets etc?
I never like it when I first learnt about it and not a really big fan of MBD and model dimension...
But recently i have been thinking of re-evaluating it since we have a new tool that import dimXpert dimension for tolerance analysis...

If you mean dimensions on 3D model, yes I tried it but with very limited success... Probably it's me... may be I do it wrong... I struggle put the dimensions on the correct orientation/plane. I had to draw a bounding box just to show the three overall dimensions...

...non planar faces
I
think the basic DimXpert tool won't handle non planar (non circular) geometry very well, but that's my speculation. I've only ever used the basic DimXpert tool for showing off models with dimensions during a presentation or review (instead of using the measure tool live). I messed around with MBD for a bit when I had a Student license, and it's very promising, but my company is stuck on using 2D drawings and don't see them shelling out for MBD anytime soon. The one gripe (tangent) I have with DimXpert is that if I create a 3D PDF export of the model, none of the dimensions export as well....I know that's an MBD function, but it would be nice if a few dimensions could get exported 3-5 or so.

In 2018 I was writing my last SW book, and I wanted to include a chapter on DimXpert. I talked with Alin Vargatu, who is a huge proponent of the function. But I also talked with a bunch of more production-side folks on the old SW forum. In the end, I decided against including the chapter, mainly because the things it needed to do to really deliver on the promise weren't there, and as usual, the stuff that was there was half baked.
There have been some improvements since then, but I don't think the overall situation is different.
