PDM Add-in task help

Hello, we are trying to create an add-in task macro in PDM that can "open part - check out part - force rebuild - save part - check in part - close part" upon a state change to "Released for Production" or "Released for Prototype". I have recorded a basic macro with a test part but am unsure where to go from there as I am a beginner in VB and C+. Any assistance is greatly appreciated.
