Misaligned projected views, simple workaround

Unread post by Tom G »

I have two assemblies containing a total of 37 relevant display states. I am making one sheet in the drawing for each display state. I copy a new sheet from the 'template' sheet, then change its only view to the correct assembly model and display state, adjust drawing scale, and reposition the one view. Then I begin projecting additional views for that sheet.

That's when the goofiness starts. The new projected views do not align by origin. Rebuild does nothing.

At first, I began realigning the views by selecting front view and aligning vertical by origin to the plan view, then selecting the side view and aligning horizontal by origin to the front view. Tedious and simple. However, then I had to change sheet scale to appropriately fit a much larger / smaller object in the new display state. Once sheet scale changed, all projected views were automatically restored to their proper alignments!!

So, in creating the next sheet and its views, I changed its sheet scale to anything different and accepted it. Then I reverted the sheet scale to its original value. This may be equivalent tedium to some, but it seems easier to me, particularly if I have more than three aligned views.

That's an awesome work-around when working from previous projects to new ones that have different alignements.

yes, I have a similar problem for all views on SP2021 SP4:
SolidWorks adds a 0 to the last part of the scale.
So a 1:5 scale view will produce a 1:50 scale section view that is misaligned (although I use 'parent scale').
Changing back & forth fixes this problem AND re-aligns the views!
