So I noticed that they got rid of the option check box "No Preview During Open" sometime between SW 2018 and SW 2022.
From SW 2018:
From SW 2022:
I turned off the preview during load because so many people here were trying to do things while the file was still loading. And you can't do much and they would get frustrated......Finally, after explaining it dozens of times...I just shut off the preview during open for everyone.
So, now the option is gone....and it looks like for the better.
However, after looking into it, it looks like it was removed in SW 2019 (according to this thread):

Anyway....just wanted to give some info since I noticed it.

Re: No Preview During Open
Here's 2019 Performance Settings box. I'm curiuos what you mean about preview on load? We can see the drawing/model on open and then depending on how long the rebuild takes can see what it was like last time it was saved then after automatic rebuild the drawing/model will change. Is the preview you speak of something different?

Re: No Preview During Open
In 2018 and earlier, when the load would take minutes+ of time, some users (who don't use Solidworks very often) would attempt to do things while the model is still loading. To the inexperienced user, it looks like the model is loaded if you aren't looking in the bottom left corner for the load bar. So when they would attempt to do a few things, and all commands are greyed out, they would immediately attempt a fix or call IT some other thing.bnemec wrote: ↑Fri Oct 21, 2022 10:44 am Here's 2019 Performance Settings box. This happened often enough that I finally just checked the box "no preview during load" so that they wouldn't think that something was loaded when it wasn't.
To be fair, these users mostly use it to measure or do VERY minor designs.
