Solidworks 2021 SP 3.0

Unread post by Bradfordzzz »

Anyone run into any issues installing the latest service pack?

Mine crashed during install. Had to do a repair to SP 2.0

Thanks,
Mark

Just updated from 3.0EV to 3.0. Everything fine, no problems. Will start using it now. When I find some troubles I'll report.

I have plenty enough troubles getting SW2021 SP2 running properly. I just registered to this forum as the 'new and improved' forum by DS isn't providing any answers anymore. "Migration is ongoing" is their default response. Ridiculous. I've now asked our supplier/support desk for assistance, but these guys are also overwhelmed by the responses so far.

The only reason why we did an update from SW2019 to 2021 is to keep up with our partners, but boy, what a disaster this has turned it into.

@Robert Wijnands, any progress in the update? Probably running a desktop, no laptop?

I had so many issues just trying to get Solidworks SP3.0 installed without errors, that I am going to hold off deploying to the rest of the team until I can try with SP4.0 without errors.

I tried as I have normally installed in the past without issues ..
When that didn't work .. I used the Javelin instructions to do a full uninstall of the previous version of Solidworks (2020 SP5.0) including the registry cleanup.
still ran into errors when trying to install.
so I went back and did a clean install of 2020 SP5.0 with out any issue at all.

Other people are not experiencing what I have, but we all have different hard ware.
What weird, is older versions install without issue, but the new one doesn't.

Once 2021 SP4.0 is released, I'll try again and let you know the results.

@Bradfordzzz, your hardware is not certified for SolidWorks 2021, yet.😒
There is some delay, maybe in half a year?

I wont hold my breath for it ever to be considered Certified by Solidworks.
Their "Certified Drivers" never helped anyway.

And 2021 came out after the great push to reduce bugs and improve performance by the development team.

Installed SP3. So far no problem. 2021 doesn't crash much for me.

I thought that happened a couple of years ago with "ONE AND TWO".

I think the bug fixing team consists of 2 people, and the "new half-assed features that won't work for 3 releases" team is 25 people. And those 2 people have been pulled off because you whiny users don't like the forum they created for you.

I think everyone use the same team of developer.
The "punch in" app we use just lost the "out" button on new update.
