Angled dimension from vertice

Unread post by AlexLachance »

Hey,

I know I can do angled dimensions from a vertice but I'm unable to achieve it. Could somone please enlighten me..? The toggle switch just doesn't show up upon selection.

From memory, I'm supposed to select the line and the vertice but I can't seem to get it to work.

Yes, with the dimension tool active, select a line/edge and a collinear point/vertex. The popup should appear.

I believe it's either 2 edges or 3 points.

There was a new thing added which allowed to select a point and then a round blue thing would would appear split in quarters next to the mouse. That's the thing I'm refering to, I just can't find it

Just tried it on 2023 sp3. Works ok for me. Never knew this before. Nice feature.

As far as I know, it only works if the point AND the line are from the same entity. (i.e., the point is the end point of the line you already selected)

Are you in a detail view in a drawing? There is a bug report against SW2023 SP3:

Ugh, it was appearing misplaced because of a trimmed view... I'm feeling stupid now

The point must lie on a line or its extension (colinear)

Hmm... A alien doesn't know...
I'm starting to have doubts...
