Slow Forums

The forums are very slow this morning. At one point I got kicked out with a "too many connections" error. Hopefully the forum isn't under attack.

I got something rather similar. Sent a message to matt about it. It seems host related because his website also seems to be encountering similar issues.

I think there is something going on at the host today. I had some slow response as well once or twice, but it has returned to normal. I was getting some odd messages from other sites I have with the same host, where one site was going up and down. There have been a lot of hacking attempts at my main site. No one has actually gotten through, but we might be seeing some slowed down traffic just due to all the minor issues going on. Thanks for keeping an eye open for that kind of thing. Let me know if it continues or gets worse.

Slow at the second, bit like forum surfing in 2001 on dial-up.

I got in touch with the host, and they are acknowledging some problems on the server. Don't be surprised if there is a reboot or something this morning. They know about it and are working on the issue. Thx for patience. The message from the host is below.
I have checked your account and it is confirmed that the server on which your account is hosted is currently having performance issues. Our admins are working on reducing the server load and getting the server back to full functionality. It may take a while to get this resolved.

I think they need to try turning that knob the other direction. :)

This is seriously atrocious and renders the forum unusable... Hopefully the host can find the issue soon

It's not that bad for me. Everything is just slower than usual.

I agree that it's bad. Not sure I was say "unusable" I'm used to other systems that prompt "multi-tasking" (do other stuff while it loads) so this isn't unusable. I'll keep using the forum though. When it comes to sharing my opinions I can be very persistent. ;)

So far this week it's about a 5 to 10 second load time for me, either at work or at home. Today is the same as yesterday.

Yeah I'm sorta A.D.D. which is why it rendered it useless for me  . The load times were about 2 minutes yesterday. Today it's down to less then 30 seconds.

That happened to me once yesterday. 15 seconds later and it was back to being slow. It is still slow for me.

Just a few minutes ago was the first time I've logged in since Friday, but if anything it's faster than before the recent difficulties.
